Uni V. Sol

Uni V. Sol, the author-preneur and songwriter is better known as the recording artist and live performer Universol.  Owner of his own style, which is a combination of HIp Hop, Funk, Rap, and Soul is easily recognizable by his distinct voice, melodic deliveries and story telling abilities. Universol’s music is often cinematic, with spells of wordplay and heavy hooks. He has developed his sound over the last 4 years with Producer Neve and Producer/Engineer Rickochae. This constant musical relationship has allowed for a continual flow and a growth in artistry. Most importantly, it has created an identifiable a sound. Universol’s live stage show with his long time cohort, DJStylus, is energetic and bountiful; which has often turned doubters to believers and believers into fanatics. Using different characters and styles to bring his music to life, Uni also refers to himself as The Funkateer of the New Frontier, Your Royal Flyness, Johnny Velvet, Pop E. Kokk and Wonder Boy.
He has received the honor of being nominated for the Most Original Male Artist in 2007 and 2008 for the Underground Music Awards, as well as recognition in the DiscMakers Independent Music World Series. Universol also received a nomination for Street Album of the Year by Justo’s MixTape Awards in 2008 for his latest compilation “Concrete Music”. “Concrete Music”was released in the streets September of 2006, and then re-released digitally on iTunes.
Building up to his first ever retail ready release this fall, Universol has dropped many Digital LP’s, EP’s, and Mixtapes to bring awareness to his brand of music.
