The Project

The opportunity:

10 Pioneers are working together as a team to organise and host an event at the ‘Royal Opera House’, London.

Key dates

  • June: Training week
  • June – July: Work experience
  • July: Announcement of ‘Final 10’. Event planning begins
  • August: Learning ‘on the ground’ at V Festival
  • 7 September: ‘The Project’ showcase event at ‘Royal Opera House’, London

How the 10 Pioneers were selected:

In June, 100 Pioneers took part in an industry-recognised training day and were then matched with top companies across the UK for one week’s ‘work experience’.

During the week’s work experience, the Pioneers learnt the skills and ‘tricks of the trade’ necessary to organise and stage an event at one of the UK’s leading entertainment venues – the ‘Royal Opera House’, London.

At the end of their ‘work experience’ week, Pioneers’ performances were evaluated and 10 Pioneers were chosen to form ‘The Project’ team. ‘The Project’ team have been given a budget and tasked with organising and hosting an unique event at the ‘Royal Opera House’.

Richard Branson led the final judging process and will also be attending the finale event to see what the ‘Final 10′ Pioneers have achieved.

Now that the final ten have been selected, the challenge will really begin! They will have to come together as a team and make important decisions to create a fantastic event in September. I’m looking forward to seeing the final show! – Sir Richard Branson

This program sounds like an amazing way for young pioneers to get exposure and compete against one another to formulate a business plan and produce it. How can someone like myself get involved in the next round of competition?
