    Dear Control Shift,
I am a young entrepreneur and could use some help with a business plan. The last solicitor I asked quoted £30,000 to write one up. Making business plans cheap and accessbile for young start ups is key to their obtaining finance and Control Shift could perhaps implement such a resource.
Mentoring is also useful and I would appreciate someone to discuss my plans with. One of my ideas actually is rather pressing as it involves a plan to implement the UN Olympic Truce using Music, TV & Digital platoforms for 360 content. I have media partners on board but need the funding.reply

I think finance is a major issue.

I am from the borough of Barnet in london and there is no business support available watsoever.

I had to seek enterprise agencies in Islington and even then, support is limited.

There are not enough competitions or funds that provide us with the finance we need.

I have a business plan completed but am stuck as I can’t find investors who are willing to invest in these hard economic times.

It’s a real shame because as a graduate, there are no jobs and if you want to start your own business, there is no finance…what can we do?

I am all for entrepreneurial spirits!reply

As a graduate…the princes trust refuses to help me untill i have been a graduate of 6 months as I am not seen as disadvantaged because I hold a degree.

I graduated 2 weeks ago or so. That means i have a 5 and a half month wait, untill they can offer me anything. That’s a long time to spend waiting.

Iam at a disadvantage with a degree because there are no jobs. I spent three years studying where i could have excelled in a job.

    Hard times…..however there is hope.reply

I think one of the key barriers for the majority of young entrepreneurs is not having a mentor who has been there and done it. Entrepreneurs have new ideas every single day, and it is really important to have someone who you can bounce ideas off and quickly suggest if they think ideas are good or bad.

I am 41 now and have been running my own companies for the last 12 years. My first bank manager was a brilliant mentor but he got promoted and we lost him. I think we would have fast-tracked our companies if we still had him to speak to on an ad-hoc basis.

Can you imagine what it would be like to get Richard for 5 minutes a week? wow!reply

What do you want to say?
